You don't say which version you are trying, or which operating system. It's 
also not clear whether you had run this report in an earlier version without 
delays.I

I will note, however, that what you are describing isn't technically "hanging", 
since the program continues to function. What you are observing is the time it 
takes to run that report. I have seen several reports (for example, the 
barchart report) that take minutes to run. This is, I have been told, a result 
of flawed report program logic. While it is certainly annoying, I haven't done 
anything about it, in large part because I am not a programmer. I believe I 
submitted a bug about the barchart report, since it is so painfully slow. I 
imagine that the line chart report uses similarly flawed logic.

With the app set to open with just the Account Register showing, there is no
problem. It opens normally. 
 
But if I try to create a "Reports/Assets & Liabilities/Net Worth Linechart,"
the program hangs for about a minute before resuming. Same thing occurs if I
save with this Report open (on the tab bar), then re-open the app.
 
I've tried saving the file to a new location, using Save-As. Same thing.
 
I've tried deleting the saved-reports-2.4 file and backup from
C:\Users\NAME\.gnucash. Same thing.
 
Can anyone suggest a way forward?
