When I add the small amount of £1.00 the system takes it in the memo entries, but when I press enter it disappears from the system.

Christine, Sorry, I don't understand. Can you explain in detail (at the level of "I select x from the menu, enter £1.00 in field y, ...) exactly what you're doing and what happens at each step?
