You don’t notice them doing anything because you’ve already got the default selected when you first bring up the report.
Try making some selections and applying, then bring up the options and click the select default button, you’ll notice the selections switch to the defaults, which is what you started with (hence ‘default’) which are nothing selected for Accounts, and Expenses selected for Filter By.
