Please remember to copy the list on all replies. Most mail clients have a
reply-all function and some have a reply-list function. Either one works well.

The first option might work if Chase offers OFX file download. Option 5 is CSV
downloads and GnuCash has a CSV importer. That’s what I’ve had to resort to for
my USAA accounts. Neither of those address your original question, how to get
GnuCash to automatically connect to your bank.

Options 2 and 3 are just wrong. Chase disabled OFX Direct Connect so no other
providers can offer it. While the first 3 alternatives may or may not be able
to connect to Chase, they won’t be doing so with OFX direct connect. Also
they're online services that more or less compete with GnuCash. I didn’t find
any documentation but it seems unlikely to me that they’d provide a way to
extract your data, especially for free. They will of course sell it to
advertisers and others who want to know more about you. The fourth, Finicity,
is an FDX software provider owned by MasterCard. Access to that requires a
contract with MasterCard, see
https://developer.mastercard.com/open-banking-us/documentation/onboarding/#production-billable.

Option 4 is use an Intuit product. That will work, but it doesn’t help you
connect GnuCash to Chase; you’d be using it instead of GnuCash.

John Ralls
