I am not sure whether this actually got transferred to the user mail list. Is the user concerned about the name of his data file or the structure of the account names within the the file. It sounds to me like the former. If that is the case, he may be looking at backups of his data file. Then he should sort the files by date and look at a few of the most recent files. I seem to recall that somewhere along the line there was a change to the naming convention for the backups. File size is not a good indicator as they may not all be either compressed or uncompressed. Once he has solved that problem it is time that he updated to a current version of GnuCash.
