Branch for translation update

I'm working on a update for the Italian translation of GnuCash and, as 
I'm not really active anymore with commits, I need a clearence from 
developers: is it right if I commit the updated translation in the 
"maint" branch (what would've been called 2.6 branch in the old svn repo)?
