Second, yes, the goals seem very similar for now with only the export format differing. Both are expense trackers etc. Thirdly, the GSoC project is the "official" Gnucash app for Android and is beholden to the community in that sense (this does not mean design-by-committee). Fourthly, I would like to see Gnucash for Android grow into a full-fledged and *easy-to-use* (this is v. important) financial management software for Android. This means that although integration with desktop will be present, eventually users should be happy with only Gnucash for Android (including tablet support etc) Fifthly, integration with Gnucash for desktop will continue to be a priority - through exporting the transactions and whatever schemes we dream up in the future.
