You did not respond to the suggestion that you just use one of the
other standard currencies in Gnucash to represent bitcoin.  Gnucash
does not know anything about specific currencies so will not care that
you use one of the built in ones to represent bitcoin.

As far as your rant against the developers goes, remember that they
are volunteers.  If you think that there are some features that could
usefully be added to gnucash then feel free either to submit code
enhancements yourself or pay someone to do it.
