Thanks for the heads-up. I tested the download in a virtual machine and found
that it's a legitimate, though old, MS Windows build of Gnucash. The website
itself doesn't provide the sources, so they're technically in violation of the
GPL. But the installed program has links to our real website (which is back up
now), which of course does, so it would be hard to make a court case out of the
violation.

The package also (optionally) installs a MS Bing toolbar into one's default
browser, adds the Bing homepage (and sets it as one's browser's homepage), and
Bing Default Search. It all seems legitimate.

I ran MS Safety Check after the installation and it came up clean. That's not a
guarantee that there's no malware, of course.

Whois shows the contacts for the domain as "Moniker Privacy Services", but
Moniker is also the registrar, so they're probably shielding the actual owners.

I'm copying the Gnucash Developer's list on this so that the other active
developers know about the website and my tests, and there will be a record of
it.

Regards,
John Ralls
