Sure. Note that this doesn't have to happen in 2.4.0. Having it in 2.4.1 or even 2.4.6 is probably fine. Although note that some long-term Ubuntu/Debian systems are still running 2.2.6, not 2.2.9, so YMMV. Obviously the earlier you can make changes the better.
