Cristian,

Yes, do add your findings about the po file. I have not learned about them
yet. All I have picked up is that they are involved in translations from
English to another language. When done, I would appreciate your sending back
to me the entire file including your information.

What the file needs is how to process those and when they are relevant to
documentation update. Can you describe the circumstances under which it
occurred? From you information, I hope to insert it into the right sequence in
the existing steps. I need to understand more fully what you mean by stating

"I've also managed to get a po file where I merged the C locale guide to the
it_IT locale. In this way I'm able to use a po file to track changes between
the two in an easy way and the translation process is a lot better."

Thanks much for your input.

Tom

Thanks for the file. Really usefull and complete. It is perfect for a wiki
page. (I will surely follow the bugzilla section because I'm not familiar with
it)
I've also managed to get a po file where I merged the C locale guide to the
it_IT locale. In this way I'm able to use a po file to track changes between
the two in an easy way and the translation process is a lot better. I think I
could add something on this topic to your text if you want.

Here you are, Cristian. Other than I you will be the first to see these.
Please send me anything that is not clear or that does not work for you. If
you believe I have said something not correct, then please do point that out
also.

Good luck.

Hi Cristian,

I don't believe what I am working on will be affected by your intended changes,
but I should mention that I have a patch to Guide chapter 3 in process. That
patch also adds Chapter 16 and affects a couple other modules.

I believe these have been committed but not installed into subversion, at least
as of this past Monday. So please keep that in mind should you not find my
changes in the svn checkout that brings the full set of docs to your own
computer.
Ok, I've read your previous posts on this list about the documentation patch.

I am new to GC documentation and there is a multi-step process that I have to
follow. I have been asked to write that up, especially for the benefit of
persons new to GC. It is intended for a wiki, but I do not have the wiki
created - just a text file. If you think that might be of interest, I could
send a copy of the notes I created for your use until something more public can
be installed. ;-)

Sure, i'm also pretty new to documentation writing (I?ve only translated the
GnuCash manual and help in Italian) so any advice on workflow is good.

Thanks
Cristian
