Well, the first thing to do is get 2.2.9.5. (.4 if you're on a PPC). Where did you find .3? I took that down from sourceforge months ago. To troubleshoot the problem, first see if /opt/gnucash-2.2.9 got created. (You can see it in Finder if you use Go>Go to Folder and type /opt in the interaction sheet.) If it's there, open /Applications/Utilities/Console and look for error messages tagged gnucash. If it isn't something blindingly obvious, post the errors here.
