By the way, I think 2.2.9 will probably have been the last release in the 2.2.x series. We needed this one because of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=564928 . Trunk already has a bunch of new improved features, and especially Charles' register cleanup work will improve the behaviour a lot as well. But the majority of those improvements won't be back-ported, so it is probably time to make up a plan for a new 2.4.0 stable series. Just my 2 cents...
