I've been having similar/same issues with the gnucash/aqbanking port since r17234. I began debugging, but stopped when it appeared that aqbanking wasn't returning the information needed -- this may not necessarily be an aqbanking issue. I filed https://devel.aqbanking.de/trac/aqbanking/ticket/21 to address this. If you're interested in seeing if they are the same issue, I got my debugging information by using '--debug', '--extra', or '--log.
