Yes. For libgncmod-business-backend-file.la, you can choose whether you get the file-related symbols either from file-backend or rather from libgncgnome, which due to the included source files has them as well.
Hmm, I don't like either option. A third, I guess, is to pull the source file in directly. A fourth is to put those symbols into some extra library that I can link to. *ponders*
