I have this error in a case where even the above did not fix it. IIRC, this arose when I upgraded gcc AND did a `svn update` that removed libraries. Somehow, the libtool-generated files were not removed and the configure/distclean cycle either wouldn't remove them or wouldn't complete. I don't recall which. This may be a bug in libtool or automake. If it happens again, I'll pay closer attention. For now, I'd recommend that you follow any gcc upgrade with configure/distclean *before* `svn update`. -chris > > -derek > > Quoting Volker Englisch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > >I'm trying to rebuild G2 and I am getting an error message building > >the source (Rev 12166) with the following error message: > > libtool: link: cannot find the library > > `/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.1/../../..//libpopt.la' > > make[4]: *** [libcore-utils.la] Error 1 > > > >The path to the library is incorrect on my system (FC4).
