I haven't got 1.8branch on my system yet, I'll download and make it tonight.

:-(

It fixes the reported problem but generates another (more ugly) one.

The invoice window now loads, GnuCash continues to operate and the window
appears to accept data and calculate the totals in the summary bar as
expected.

HOWEVER, post the invoice and nothing shows up, anywhere. The Customer Report
is empty, the accounts still show zero balances and the 'find invoice'
windows are empty. Mysteriously, (on this system at least) I then get
multiple BLANK customers being spontaneously created - one for each time I
run the test.

I did get:
Error: xaccSplitSetBaseValue(): split must have a parent

printed to the terminal.

I only came across this when creating some test content and I'll have a go at
it again tomorrow.

Certainly looks possible. (He says, hoping it's nothing to do with QOF!)

Shall I file this as a bug report rather than take up more space on the list?
