Not sure what other people will think, BUT...
A while ago I asked if it would be possible to have a Quicken
feature added to Gnucash. Basically, if you schedule transactions
into the future, Gnucash will show the future balance and not
the current balance. Quicken will show both.
I actually stumbled on a way to do this in Gnucash. If you click on
the account, then "Reports", "Balance Sheet" it will show you the
balance for today and not the future balance that it shows in
the registry, pretty cool.
Now the request. Would it be possible to select the date that
the report runs on? For example, yesterday I scheduled two
bills in the future through Wells Fargo online and then posted
the same to Gnucash, and then went ahead and did my direct
deposit a day early. Trying to plan out other bills after the real pay
day and was to lazy to do the math. :-) It would have been slick to
just pick a date in the future and see what my balance would be on
that date.
