There certainly is - and guppi is going to be the vehicle for doing it.

Possibly.  As soon as I get my new box (with enough disk space so I
can run CVS versions of gnome libraries) I'm going to have a play with
guppi and see just how we can integrate it with gnucash.

As for whether guile will be used - it will be, at some level.  The
performance is of course an issue - but I don't know how much of an
issue until some experimentation is done.
