Once upon a time, there were a couple of messages that said swig was not
required for the GNOME build of gnucash, and that "yeah, we really need
to take that outta the build process". This still has not happened. Is
there a real dependency in the source on Swig with the GNOME build, and
if there's not, can we take it out of the build process?
Also, there seems to be a problem with the g-wrap spec file. It
includes the following files in %files:
/usr/lib/libgwrapguile.a
/usr/lib/libgwrapguile.la
/usr/lib/libgwrapguile.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib/libgwrapguile.so.0
/usr/lib/libgwrapguile.so
which are not, of course, installed. Are these files supposed to be
made? and if so, how? ./configure; make; make install does not make
them. What strikes me as strange about this is that they are in the
binary g-wrap rpm. When I do a "make install", all I get installed are:
/usr/bin/g-scan
/usr/bin/g-wrap
/usr/bin/g-wrap-config
/usr/include/g-wrap.h
/usr/info/g-wrap.info
/usr/share/guile/site/g-wrap
This is with the latest source tarball, and the latest src.rpm (just to
be certain), from the ftp area.
ciao, soon's it finishes compiling (finally-after fighting with g-wrap,
then the idiocies of non-ANSI C++ in Swig. :( ), I'm sure I'll be
happy. I'm just hoping more of the reports will work.
