Just to point out that all corporation and government accountancy in
Italy are *already* carried out in Euro (EUR 1 = LIT 1936.27 fixed)
which is the official currency as of 1st January 1999. Italian liras
are used on everyday life until 1st January 2002, and then they will
be retired, but from a accountant's point of view they don't exist
anymore. In practice, you should use EUR internally and multiply by
the rate for displaying LIT on user's request.

Ofcourse, things are just the same for the other 10 currencies of
Euroland.
