Normal transactions with future dates

I can see that I need much more study of the import dialog - If online
banking works as I hope in the future then I will obviously be doing much
more importing of QIF files.
I just retried after reading the above quick tutorial - got the error
message that gnucash could not autodetect the date format (or something
along those lines). Will have to re-examine the qif file and specify a
date format that will hopefully work.
Will continue studying the import dialog until I get this to work
