What version of Gnucash are you using? Recent versions have a
completely new QIF importer compared to older ones. I don't know
exactly when the new QIF import code came in; somewhere around 1.3.1,
I think.

If you have the new QIF import code, clicking the "Import" button
gives you a dialog with "tabs" marked "Files", "Accounts", and
"Categories". In the old QIF importer, the "Import" button gets you a
file selector dialog.

In the new importer, you should be able to enter a currency for each
QIF file that you import, in the "Files" tab. The default is to use
your default currency, so I'm not sure what could be going on if you
are seeing USD for your imports in the new importer.

If you are using the new importer, I would be very interested to try
to fix this bug. Please let me know, either through the list or
directly.

Thanks,
Bill Gribble
