Is that so someone can rename the file to another language and use

Well, I don't think en_US needs any .po work. There could be a few
phrases which need to be changed for the en_GB domain, but we print
the currency correctly.

If the only difference is the currency, then we don't need it.
We print the currency based on the locale information, the
CURRENCY_SYMBOL string is only used as a backup.
