If you said 'make install' as root, you should have gotten bootstrap.scm
copied to /usr/local/app/...

Its possible that there's a bug in make install, and bootstrap.scm &
friends ended up in the wrong directory.  Can you figure out if they
weren't copied, or if they were cpopied but to the wrong place?
