For current Debian users, there's a bug in the recently released guile
packages that may keep gnucash from working properly. Although you do
need to install libguile6-slib, you may also have to rebuild the slib
catalog manually. If this is necessary, it can be done, as root with
this command:
guile -c "(use-modules (ice-9 slib)) (require 'new-catalog)"
