I have been trying to experiment with the transfer of money from a bank
account of one currency to another, and so far I haven't managed to work
out the correct way of doing this.
I know it has something to do with a currency account, however all my
attempts to somehow get money into a currency account have resulted in
gnucash either locking up solid, core dumping, or giving an error
"inappropriate base currency" and then locking up.
The first thing I need to know before I can trace any problem is the
correct step by step procedure needed to transfer money from one account
to another where different currencies are in effect. First of all, the
currency account. What do I fill in in the currency field? And in the
security field? The transfer itself, how is it done? Is it possible to
describe the process step by step?
Before I can figure out what's wrong, I first need to know how it's
supposed to be done right...
