!! I didn't think I made that many changes!   The few I did do, I tried 
go in and keep the gnome source up to date.  

However, one place where things did change a lot is where/how redraws
of various windows get handled when e.g. the balance in some window is
changed.  Unfortunately, getting all of the windows to update correctly,
without adding too much heavy-weight clobbering is hard ... and the
resulting code messy.

Thus, you may find that things the look like an "incorrect balance" 
are fine; its just that the window hasn't been redrawn to show the new
balances.
