I don't have time to work on the GNOME stuff, but make sure whoever
does, checks out what's changed in src/motif.
As I see it your three biggest issues are:
1) getting a working register
2) handling the changes that Linas has made to the engine
(splits/reports/etc)
3) handling the changes I've made to the startup procedure (mostly
note that main.h and main.c should become top-level.h and
top-level.c -- main() is now in src/guile/gnucash.c). Also look
at how src/motif/Makefile.in has changed to accomodate this.
