Hi, I am currently using an application for work that I have to run at all times. It places an icon in the notification area and is one of those very few applications where I like to be able to access it from there. However, this particular application will not generate an icon in the Gnome-Shell notification area. I get an icon in Unity, XFCE, Cinnamon, Mate and KDE, but not in Gnome-Shell. I have also contacted the developers of the application, but they do not seem to be able to fix this either. So now I try here. The application in question is HipChat (www.hipchat.com) which is a group chat application aimed at enterprise use. It's a good application and works perfectly in Gnome-Shell except for leaving an empty space in the notification area where the icon should have been.
If someone either run this application or feel like looking into why there's no icon in Gnome-Shell it would be great since my capabilities in this area is limited. I'm running GNOME 3.10 on Ubuntu GNOME 14.04, but this icons issue was present in GNOME 3.8 as well. -- //Christian _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list gnome-shell-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
