If I follow the bug there, it's about the description in g-c-c or in the dropdown menu in gnome-shell. In my case it's the label in the top bar that's empty. I played a bit with it and it seems that comes from "info.shortName = engineDesc.get_symbol();". It's probably something from m17n ibus engine.
