I have no idea about the problem yo are hunting, but there is a much simpler way to undecorate maximized windows (if you want to undecorate all of them at least): just use a theme which has no decoration for maximized windows. It is easy to change in the default theme, as explained in "method 2" here: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/05/how-to-remove-maximized-windows.html Having options for this kind of theme tricks would be insanely cool for IMHO.
