You're receiving lots of different complaints. Give all what they want, that is, in other words, give each of them a different Gnome. All browsers moved from "no add-ons" to "with add-ons", because of competing with Firefox. Make all desktop enviroments and operating systems move from "no add-ons" to "with add-ons". There are millions of users, thousands of programmers, thousands of designers. Each with ideas and suggestions. Imagine a better computer industry, then write the software to make the computer industry better. First, ship Gnome Shell with the Gnome Shell Extensions package. Then, select an app icon for Gnome Shell Extensions. Then, use Customize Gnome 3 as tooltip for the app icon. Then, make it open http://extensions.gnome.org/ with a click. Then, ship Gnome Shell with Customize Gnome 3 in the launcher. All problems solved!
