I can understand you'd like to support RMS
Let me clearly state that, considering support for RMS an
understandable position is not an accepted stance inside the GNOME
project. Not only has the GNOME Foundation signed the open letter but
many past and current contributors have as well. [1]
There is a limit to what I consider an understandable position, and
with supporting RMS, this line is clearly crossed.
I encourage everyone to take a stance and refuse to empower people
holding such opinions, even be it by acts like granting them more
rights inside the GNOME project.
RMS stands for a long tradition of abusing marginalized contributors
and people in general. Please, everyone, use any chance to make it
clear that you don't want to continue this history.
Best,
Sophie
PS: I will not engage in any discussions about this topic.
