The problem is with the check itself which is: msgconv -t UTF-8 POFILE | diff -u POFILE - >/dev/null msgconv normalizes encoding to UTF-8 when it's simply lowercase "utf-8", so the diff fails. I am thinking of the easiest way to fix this, and your files won't fail anymore once that is done (fixing, not thinking :).
