Hey all, sorry to change things so late in the game, but apparently there was a problem in gnome-dictionary : the string "_dictionary" was removed from the translation catalog sometimes during the 2.9 timeframe. This was pointed out to me by Reinout. The release team approved the freeze breakage, and now the string is back into gnome-dictionary CVS. Again, I apologize for the unconvience, and thanks a lot to Reinout to find this.
