DanRabbit used to (maybe still does?) run Docky2 on Jaunty.  To my
knowledge there is nothing that would prevent you from doing so.  The
only thing I know for sure won't work is having the nautilus emblems
and custom icons display on files / folders that you put on the dock.
The way nautilus stored this metadata changed in Karmic and I have no
intention to support the old way that emblem metadata was stored.

I thought Rico (ricotz) had a Docky2 package in his personal ppa?  He
did at one point anyways.
