I've contacted several authors and most of them agreed to change the
license to CC-by-NC, while one of the author's reply reminds me, that
the copyright of the logos actually belong to those web2.0 companies.
I have no idea if it is legal/free to use the logos at least just to
represent the companies themselves.

For example, there is a quote from FriendFeed's TOS:

"FriendFeed, the FriendFeed logo and the FriendFeed design are
trademarks or trade dress of FriendFeed, and may not be used without
express written permission from FriendFeed, other than for
attribution. All other trademarks not owned by FriendFeed that appear
on this Site are the property of their respective owners, who may or
may not be affiliated with, connected to, or sponsored by FriendFeed."

Since I'm not good at anything related to laws and not a native
english speaker, I'm not sure if it means it's safe for me to just use
the logo and say something similar like "the logo used in the plugin
is the property of FriendFeed ..." in this case?
