I found that eSpeak expects values between 80 and 450 (default: 175) - at least on the command line: <http://espeak.sourceforge.net/commands.html> So I assume there is a conversion somewhere between the Orca Preferences and the call to the eSpeak TTS. I didn't find that kind of conversion in speak_lib.h (nor in several other source files from eSpeak). The values in the Orca Preferences (0-100) clearly don't represent words per minute. > >> I found that my Ubuntu 12.04 installation stores Orca settings at >> ~/.local/share/orca/user-settings.config, but I would also like to find >> out: >> * where the magnifier settings are stored, and > > The magnifier settings are managed by GSettings, and you can see all > the available settings described in the > "org.gnome.desktop.a11y.magnifier" gsettings schema. Thanks. I have now found out that I can get the list of keys by entering gsettings list-keys org.gnome.desktop.a11y.magnifier in a terminal, and a specific setting by entering gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.a11y.magnifier [KEY] > >> * where the settings for the background colour are stored. >> >> Apparently, the theme information in >> ~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/shell/windows/%gconf.xml uses the same string for >> High Contrast and for High Contrast Inverse, i.e. >> <entry name="theme" mtime="1357734678" type="string"> >> <stringvalue>Adwaita</stringvalue> >> </entry> >> That's why I am trying to find out where background colour is stored. > > In the "org.gnome.desktop.background" gsettings schema you can find > background-related settings but I'm not sure if these settings suits > your needs or if you'll need to make some modifications on the Adwaita > (or whatever theme is used) theme description. So I'll check the effect of different background settings on these keys. (At some point, we will need to know what to do to activate High Contrast or High Contrast Inverse in Gnome from the Cloud4all system.)
