============= What is Orca? ============= Orca is a free, open source, flexible, and extensible screen reader that provides access to the graphical desktop via user-customizable combinations of speech and refreshable braille.
You can read more about Orca at http://live.gnome.org/Orca. ================= Why two versions? ================= Having two parallel versions of Orca was easier than trying to have a single version of Orca which would work nicely in both Python 2 and Python 3. Orca 3.5.x is based on Python 2 and be shipped with GNOME 3.6. Orca 3.7.0.x is based on Python 3, and will be shipped with GNOME 3.8, or earlier depending on your distro. We will strive to keep these two branches behavior- and feature-consistent between now and the 3.6 release. ================================ What's Changed in 3.5.3/3.7.0.3? ================================ General * Fix for bug 677748 - Launcher icon needs 256x256 variant * Fix for Orca not presenting the 'Command not found' label in the gnome-shell run dialog * Work around for Orca not presenting the gnome-shell run dialog text in braille * Handle text implementations which report a caret offset of -1 when at the end * Eliminate unneeded and/or problematic imports * Remove more old, no-longer-used/needed code New and updated translations (THANKS EVERYONE!!!): el Greek Tom Tryfonidis fr French Bruno Brouard Where can I get it? =================== http://download.gnome.org/sources/orca/3.5/orca-3.5.3.tar.xz http://download.gnome.org/sources/orca/3.7/orca-3.7.0.3.tar.xz Enjoy! -- The Orca Team _______________________________________________ gnome-accessibility-list mailing list gnome-accessibility-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-accessibility-list
