In Nautilus, you can try selecting files that are next to each other using shifted arrow keys. If you want to select files that are not next to each other, you can hold down the control key while you move through your files and mark each file with the space bar, still holding down the control key until you are ready to move or copy all the files at once.
That being said, it sounds like a shell command like mv *<ArtistName>* <directory> may be much faster. ~Kyle Sent from my Wishdroid! :) ________________ Reply Header ________________ Subject: Marking Files for Transfer Author: "RiverWind" <riverw...@shellworld.net> Date: September 22nd2011 12:59 Hi Folks, When wanting to move files from one directory to another, is there a way to do so selectively, say in batches. You see, my "Download" directory is full of CD tracks of music from different artists. I am wanting to seperate the tracks into their respective directories. CTRL X will move files, and CTRL-c will copy them, but this is all individually. Thanks, Riv Feel free to visit my website and my blog and learn more about me and what I stand for.
