Well, back before it was determined [1] that Accessibility would not be a 3.2 "feature" after all, my answer would have been "most certainly." Now I'm less sure. Whist the original page [2] was removed, the GNOME Accessibility Team planning page [3] remains. On our "Must Haves" page [4] under "GNOME Shell Magnifier" (2nd item) you will see "Inverse video, brightness, and contrast enhancements" along with links to three bugs [5][6][7]. Taking a quick glance at those bugs it appears that they all have patches submitted a couple of months ago waiting for review. You now know as much as I know. ;-) On a related note, on our team's "Nice to Haves" page [8] -- which really is a "Must Haves, but there's only so much one can push external teams" page ;-) -- you'll see another item under GNOME Shell Magnifier. "GNOME Shell Magnifier does not track focus or the caret" along with a pointer to the associated bug. [9] If you and/or some other member of the Release Team happen to be pinging the GNOME Shell Team regarding the issue originally raised in this thread, it would be helpful to know if we can expect to see this issue resolved for 3.2 as well. After all, the other platforms (or at least OS X and Windows) ship free magnification solutions which don't need to be driven by a screen reader for users who are blind. Might be nifty if GNOME could claim the same. Hope this answers your questions. But if not, please do let us know what additional details we can provide.
