Hi all,
Michael Meeks and I have put a patch into ORBit so that applications that
become root in a session can communicate with non-root apps. This should
make it unnecessary to create a /root/.ORBitrc to use tcp sockets. It
works for me, but it would be good if other people tested it. Details and
the patch are at https://bugzilla.novell.com/399975. It is currently in
ORBit svn:
svn://svn.gnome.org/svn/ORBit2/trunk
and should go into the next release.
