Hi Aurelian, Probably in a Core 2 Duo you will have 50% of CPU usage (100% of one core). This is not a bug, this is due the fact that the magnification algorithm is CPU intensive. This can be solved using the video card processor, that is by far fastest for this type of operation.
If you pan a lot this will probably heat and battery life. I'm not developing gnome-mag anymore, but probably the GNOME Outreach Accessibility Program will adress these issues, but I think that this will take a while, one or two GNOME releases.
