Edit /etc/apt/sources.list so that you can access the Debian Unstable
repository, and then run
aptitude install gnome
After that, you may wish to turn off gdm (Gnome Display Manager) if you don't
want it to be active when your system starts.
Gnome 2.14, the latest release, is available now in Debian Unstable. However,
at least when I upgraded yesterday, Orca 0.2.5 still didn't work. I suspect
that the python-orbit package currently in Debian Unstable is not up to date.
Here's the error message from Orca; perhaps an autoconf case is necessary to
detect the appropriate dependency for this.
