Okay, I had cleared the system off and reinstalled and downloaded and ran
garnome latest version on this system slackware 10.2 with kernel 2.4.31
and had a melt down. gnome couldn't find python extensions of the type
pyrexc and they're not on slackware.com or linuxpackages.net in the
slackware directory at least. The earlier attempt with jhbuild at least
made it to the point where gnopernicus errored out and offered to notify
developers about the unexpected error. So until or unless things change,
gnopernicus and slackware aren't a good fit. Now on to Debian.
