You are a highly motivated scientist and looking for an interdisciplinary research group to work on computational biology questions? We are seeking talented scientists to join the Molecular Biomechanics group at HITS as either a postdoc or a PhD student. Research projects focus on the link between mechanical forces and biology by addressing the basic principles of protein mechanical function. They involve Molecular Dynamics simulations, Finite Element methods, bioinformatics, network theory, or combinations thereof. Within our research field, you are invited to develop own scientific ideas and projects. You will work in close collaboration with experimentalists in Heidelberg or elsewhere. For more details regarding projects, check the attachment, visit www.h-its.org/mbm, or directly contact Frauke Graeter<http://www.h-its.org/deutsch/suche_d.php?we_objectID=622&pid=0> .
HITS gGmbH is a private non-profit research institute carrying out multidisciplinary research in the computational sciences. It receives basic funding from the Klaus Tschira Foundation. The institute provides excellent computational facilities and is located in a lush neighborhood next to the historic center of Heidelberg. Its ties to multiple research institutions worldwide, including the second foothold of the group at the MPG-CAS Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai<http://www.klaus-tschira-lab.org>, represent an excellent network for scientific exchange and research collaborations. Postdoc candidates: You should possess a PhD degree in computational biophysics, biochemistry, material science, or a related discipline. You should have a firm background in biomolecular simulations and programming, and a strong interest in interdisciplinary research. To apply, please enter your application including a cover letter, your CV, a publication list and contact details of referees *here*<https://application.h-its.org/intern/register.php?id=h3b3oh1> Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2012. PhD candidates You should preferably have experience in molecular simulations and should possess a Master's degree in biophysics, biochemistry or a related discipline.
