In the area of bioinformatics/computational biochemistry/computational biology £8112 - £9910 per annum salary for the 50% part-time technical officer We are looking for a molecular/computational biologist/biochemist or bioinformatician who will provide specialist technical support for our teaching and research in computational biology/bioinformatics. This post is combined with a research studentship that according to the candidate's interests may focus on 1) the analyis of the evolutionary conservation of influenza virus proteins aiming at the discovery of novel antiviral drugs, or 2) the investigation of structure and dynamics of the cardiac sodium-pump/phospholemman complex. Both projects may involve comparative/ homology modelling, molecular dynamics simulations and molecular docking techniques.
