Good evening,

It was great meeting you all. For those who are wondering about joining
the XMPP channel showcased at the event this email is for you.

Firstly, pick a client [1], below is what I recommend:

Linux: Dino [2] or Gaijim [3]
MacOS: Monal IM [4] (from app store)
Windows: Gajim [3]

For android, Play store versions contain post notifications and are
paid, please install fdroid [5] which is an app store of only FOSS
apps, nothing proprietary. It also flags spyware and stuff for you to
know if an app is tracking you.

On fdroid I recommend: Conversations [6] for those who want a
minimalist experience, or Monocles Chat [7] if you want a nicer UX and
fancy features.

After you have installed a client, you need to create an account, which
is as simple as picking a server, providing a username and password,
and done. Its as easy as that!

After please join our group chat for the event, if you do not have the
QR code distributed please use the URI below:

xmpp:[email protected]?join

If you are copying instead of clicking the URI, please copy the
following into your XMPP client when joining the channel:

[email protected]

Done! You will be able to chat and hang out on XMPP, maybe we can
discuss doing a second meetup outside of FSF librelocal. The more who
join the better chance we could call a meetup :)

It was a pleasure meeting you all.

Hope to see you again at some point :)
