Hello,
I have a secondhand HP EliteDesk 800 G3 TWR PC with i5 and 8GB RAM. I am
having problems trying to add a secondhand "tested" PCIe HP ETHERNET 1GB 4
PORT 331T ADAPTER - HP PART NUMBER 649871-001 because the box will not go from
standby, (powered), to fully ON, with the x4 card in either a x4 or x16 slot.
Pressing the power button produces audible and visible error signals. Is this
likely to be a faulty PCIe card or some other reason? Several years ago I
found that a much earlier HP 4-port PCI card prevented any computer other than
a large HP server starting, which I assumed was due to its power requirement.
I had assumed that a single 4-port card would be less of a problem than two 2-
port or four single port cards. The 331T appears to be currently available
from BT commercial.
